Good move by the MSHSL to put Morris/Benson in the section since they were the only Southwest Conference team that was not in it. Willmar will also look to make the section a little more competitive hopefully. Teams like Luverne, Hutch, Litchfield, Marshall and New Ulm (if they stay in class A) will...

Windom has always turned dismal youth teams into decent high school teams. I agree that ammerman has done a good job in windom and i'm not trying to take away from that, but it needs to be mentioned that they could be a lot better if they had a youth program that would work with their head coach. A...

Windom won't be decent within the next 5 years because of the lack of a good youth program. The entire program from mites on up insists on playing 'B' hockey and their coaches don't know anything. When Clark was the coach in Windom the youth coaches wouldn't cooperate with him and the program refuse...

If you want a break down of the goals from the game vs Windom I can give them to you. 1) PP goal for Windom (back door play that D didn't pick up Windom) 2) Windom player lifted the goal stick and puck went five hole 3) PP goal for Windom (soft goal) 4) D forgot to take the guy and shot was deflect...

I was at the Windom vs Hutchinson game and you gotta give Windom credit for staying with them (on the scoreboard anyway). The shots in this game definitely reflected on the way the game was played, Hutchinson came out a little slow in the first period but absolutely dominated after that. Hutch had 3...

Or instead of Litchfield dropping good conference games against Holy Family they could drop non-conference games against Wadena, Prairie Centre, Morris-Benson, or St. Peter for a section game against Luverne. There are a lot of options there for game openings. And dropping a game against Wadena for ...

Here's what I see shaking out in 3A this year: Quarterfinals New Ulm will dominate whoever they play in the quarters. It's that simple. Hutch will get beat by Windom with an empty netter. No true goal scorer for Hutch. Nielsen, and both Adams brothers cant bury. They haven't impressed me at all thi...

You might as well give Luverne a shot at playing these teams since they have a JV and since they are willing to drive all the way to Litchfield, Hutchinson, and New Ulm and not requiring those 3 schools to make the drive to Luverne. It's not like it's a contract that can never be broken, if they bea...

Hey I'm pretty sure I was part of the non-sense that 3A Hockeyscout was talking about before and I apologize for that massive waste of board space that I devoted to a pointless conversation. Does anyone know when the coaches meet to seed the teams this year? I'm interested to see who everyone thinks...

Thanks, but I know how seeding works. Like I said earlier, even IF their conference is easier then it still doesn't make their schedule as a whole weaker than Marshall's. However, the Southwest Conference is weaker than New Ulm's. Average PageStat ranking for Southwest=10.93 Average PageStat rankin...

Strength of schedule according to pagestat for New Ulm=120 Strength of schedule according to pagestate for Marshall=140 So it appears that New Ulm's conference isn't weaker or at least doesn't make their overall schedule weaker than Marshall's. I haven't seen any teams play personall, but going off...

luverne and marshall are soft, sorry but its the truth. Yeah they might have a few wins against garbage competition but new ulm and hutch are both better. Sick you won your conference...its brutal. Marshall split there season series with both New Ulm and Hutchinson this season and beat Litchfield i...

DID THIS SECTION NOT LEARN ITS LESSON A FEW YEARS AGO SEEDING REDWOOD NUMBER 2?! Luverne goes and beats redwood and then gets absolutely thrashed by new ulm 11-1 or something... these teams havent proven anything. SORRY ALL. but luverne is just. not. on the same level as new ulm.... I dont care if ...

New Ulm is a .500 team. LDC is 5 and 15... FIVE AND FIFTEEN Marshall is 14 and 5 Luverne is 15 and 3 New Ulm has no signature wins to seperate them. Luverne, and Marshall can lose to the same teams that New Ulm does, strength of schedule is preposterous when all you do is lose those games. Marshall...

Maybe Windom had an off night or maybe they just lost to a better Luverne team?!? I am going to take the latter. Windom didn't play their best game against Luverne, but they also play with a complete lack of discipline. Luverne was the better team on Tuesday night and is overall the better of the 2 ...

Luverne 8 - Windom 1. Shots, Luverne 45 - Windom 20. Blowout!!!! That definitely puts Luverne ahead of Windom in the seeding process. Windom isn't going to get seeded very high, probably 6th right behind Litchfield. Windom easily has the weakest schedule of the top 6 teams and they don't even have a...

It doesn't matter if Marshall dominated the game or if the game was played pretty evenly, Marshall won the game. Marshall got 2 more points in conference play and another win and Redwood didn't it's simple as that. Marshall did probably dominate the game in many respects though, it's hard to out sho...

I don't see the problem in giving Luverne credit. There program has made big strides in recent years and it will pay off in the future just as 3A HockeyScout said. To refute that fact is obviously complete ignorance. If Luverne continues to play A hockey and continues to have a JV team they will con...
