It's been a week or so since I've been on here and it surprises me there's only one more page of whining, thought it'd be much more. What strikes me as so odd about this whole topic is that you have "bashers" (for lack of a better term) who started this thread and have been going on and o...

This is what he said before the tourney. Why I Hate the Class A Tournament by WCHBlog on Mar 7, 2012 7:06 AM PST Minnesota's Class A state hockey tournament starts this morning. It was a controversial move when the state went to the two-tiered tournament system, but ultimately, it was a noble goal. ...

The memory from last season of my team upsetting the #3 seed and not going 2 and out like Marshall did this year keeps me warm at night. Way to represent 7A. With the top recruits from all over Duluth pi...

This is a down year for sta. They lost many (not sure of the exact #) seniors last yeas and this year only have 5 seniors. Hermantown has 11 seniors this year one of the best teams in Hermantown history. Sta is very good this year. If Herm cannot knock them off this year they will have 3 Class A tit...

I don't think we can take a one-year look at Marshall and Lourdes and say they should or should not be in the A tournament. Even in a down year, these schools would probably be a high seed in their respective AA section tournament. If privates were forced to move up the A tournament probably would ...

Yep. Beating on smaller community teams that don't have 1/10 the kids to choose from is disgusting.
It's sickening watching it. How anybody from sta can feel proud of what they are doing is beyond me.

If trying to stick to the main point of the thread by making reasoned, focused arguments is going nuts, then yes, I am flying over the cuckoo's nest for sure. A couple of points: 1. I am a Hibbing fan, not a Hermantown fan. Hermantown is the epitome of what Class A hockey is about, and I admire the...

Was at the game and Rogers did not roll over, they got rolled over by a truck. I don't think the game was ever in doubt from when the puck was picked up to be dropped by the ref for the first time at center ice. Rogers was respectable and played a good game against an opponent who was head and shou...

Here is another way of looking at it, not that it matters but here we go. Lets say Hermantown dominated the first and second periods the way they did in the third period. After the 2nd it was 3-0. Rogers, in the third was running.....score 4 goals to win the game 4-3. Who dominated the game????? I ...

During the regular season, I buy this, as many teams do this and, as I've said many times, I'm sure much of Hermantown's GA have been the result of switching up lines. But, as evidence by their last 4 shut outs in a row, it's playoff time, and time to get serious. I highly doubt that, especially wi...

I think Moose Lake will get a goal or two because it will likely be 7-0 with 8 min. left and Herm's 3rd and 4th line will play the rest of the game, giving the Cisar's a good chance of burying one. I can buy in to that logic far more than I can buy in to the logic that they will score because they ...

No team has managed to shut-out Moose Lake Area this year. Only 1 team limited them to 1 goal. I have seen the Cisar boys play and they are skilled. Imo, it will take a great defensive game by Hermantown with few if any mistakes. I don't think there will be an upset, but a Rebel goal would not surpr...

It's tough to watch the private schools dominate real community schools just because they have access to orders of magnitude more kids. It isn't really that. Hermantown has 3 shut outs in a row now (albeit to Denfeld, RW and LF) and allowed one goal to Cloquet the game before. They have already overtaken St Thomas in the ushsho while being .01 behind Breck and are close to St Thomas in PageStat (without the LF game in there). Hopefully their defense is ...
