Re: something fun
I'm sure many of you have heard of this, but that new book Tourney Time is a great resource for state tourney history and such. A lot of those names from the past it's crazy how many I have actually met over time...

Re: NHL Draft
Jackson Hallum most improved, wasnt even ranked in final NHL CS report. Fastest player in Minn HS this year. Unbelievable how quickly he gets to top speed. Has been piling up points in the HS Summer Showcase and HS Elite League, roughly ...

Evan Murr from Stillwater is at Lincoln also. Depending how things develop I know multiple Elite League kids who have junior spots if they want them and may go that route if HS season looks dicey, etc.

Re: The Hermantown Thread
Having no dog in the fight felt bad for Hermantown in the sense that they were the better team and deserved to win the game if you take into account game control, chances, etc...but that's hockey it can be a cruel game...hopefully they will consider opting up as they can compete with anyone.
Anyone hear Gleason between periods of the first game today? They asked him how even was the AA field and how hard is it to make it to state. He said its completely unfair they are in such a hard section and that there were too many good te...

Interesting about the RV thing too as the Anderson's dad was a JV coach for Roseville for multiple years in the mid 2000's...certainly they likely knew about the kids and their potential?

Re: Maple Grove vs Blake
I think it's more disappointing that the ref who was over 100 feet away makes that call. I think as a coach, fan, etc. you simply ask for consistency in calls..if down by a G MG may not have been in position for that second penalty call anyway - as with the limited time left and down a goal you have...

Re: Announcers for State
Could use someone else for Palmquist IMO. He coaches a girls HS team during the season, understandable isn't likely going to a ton of boys games to see games and such...would be nice to find someone who watches more boys games and is more well versed in the teams etc. rather than same old crony type...

Re: 2020 Section Tournament Scores Thread
LS had the territorial and play advantage and control of most of game no doubt. Agree that calls were very one sided and curious as to timing of certain late calls when similar things were not called prior. You'd like in a championship OT setting to let kids settle it unless it's blatant. The too ma...

Eaves named coach at St. Olaf
Interesting hire. If he has the juice needed in the tank could be a home run for them. Hockey knowledge certainly isn't an issue. Best of luck to Eaves and the Oles!

Refs certainly weren't perfect but these are HS hockey refs were talking about, you have to be mature enough to deal with whatever calls are made and move on, that is part of the game. I thought HF coach's complete lack of composure on the bench throughout the game was a poor leadership example and ...
This probably won't happen, But I would not be overly shocked to see another upset Tuesday.
Not gonna happen this year. Talent gap between the two teams is much wider this season so WBL margin is much, much slimmer.
