C'mon, Joe, we're talking about hockey now. What good could school possibly do when we're talking hockey?

9. Irondale

just my humble opinion, feel free to discuss.[/quote]

I have to disagree. I don't see Roseville at #4. #7 tops.

Any disappointments this year?

Does anyone have a team they think is underachieving this year? A team they thought would be a lot further along than they are? I would have guessed Duluth East would be better this year. After last year I really thought they were headed in the right direction, but somehow they've gotten a little de...

Now that school has started, who has transferred? Here is what I know: 1) Cory Checco---Roch JM to Lakeville South 2) Jake Sibell---Providence to Cambridge (not Mounds View). 3) Austin Checco---Roch JM to Lakeville South 4) Connor Beltz---River Lakes to St. Cloud Cathedral 5) Wyatt Thole---Providen...

Missing kids

I don't want to single him out by name just as a courtesy, but there's a kid from HM that is missing for some reason. I've seen him play against most of these kids and he does more than hold his own. I also realize, like every sport, there are always going to be kids missing that should be on the ro...

Any unknown talent out there?

Whenever i read the hockey forum about young talent, it's always the same names. Sometimes i think it's nothing more than a popularity contest. It's the players that do the summer programs and spend a lot of money. I see "bantam elites" all the time and can't quite figure out why "eli...

The only reason I don't go into detail is out of respect for the "ink well's" ex-husband. Believe me when I say, it gets much worse. The subject has been brought up many times and nothing has been done. This guy really has a brass pair. Getting back to tryouts . . . Awww, maybe not.

Dirty politics

I can only say I honestly believe we're in one of the shadiest associations around. There are more back room politics, it would put the city of Chicago to shame. The president is on his millionth term. His last kid has one year left, then I'm sure he'll step down. Then he'll focus on the high school...

Sounds like avoiding playing the D position is a good idea from reading your posts... Hence, my post.. "Why the emphasis on forwards"? They're just better and more important? Is your kid a defenseman and got left off, or are you just being an agitator? Who really gives a crap? Most people...

Exiled....? There are 4 lines +1 of forwards and 3 lines + 1 of D. A kid playing what position in this state has better odds of making the team? What association teams carry four lines of forwards? I don't really care how one sided other teams have been.... By high level, I mean juniors, college, a...

Having the benefit of seeing him play, I'd have ranked Chase Phelps higher. Nothing against the other guys. They're definitely good and Minnesota was represented well. My personal opinion is that Chase is better than he's ranked.

If my memory serves me right, weren't there similar incidents in last year's tournament involving two of the higher profile kids on Edina? Show some humility

Congrats to the Hornets. You played great. It's easy to see why folks don't like you. Show just a bit of humility when you score and you're five goals ahead. I understand when a game is won in overtime, a kid would get excited. But a four or five goal lead would call for some humility. If one of my ...

Eden Prairie put a beat down on Elk River... Eden Prairie did not shorten the bench. They were by far the better team last night. Say what you will and make all the excuses you want.
