Re: Oldschool

Seriously...has anyone stopped to think what a 16 team excel tournament would mean? Either everyone has to hang out the whole week or the kids have to play a game 4 days in a row. Thats a ton of hockey at a truly high level.

I like the 8 and 8.

Re: Spuds

Ive still got to believe that the 94 team with Ryan Kraft and Matt Cullen among others had to be the team with the most sheer talent in Moorhead's history. And they were never higher than #2 or 3 in the state, pulling off an upset against Elk River in a section final. This team was better compared t...

Seriously...you guys just dont get it. The cities dont dominate as much as you say. I would like to point out that the state championship was even, not a Centennial domination. Re: fans

Once again we talk about seating at the excel. They need to learn how to make set School sections. They intersperse people from a school who care with people from other places who get very mad that people want to cheer, stand, stomp, etc. Its really too bad. The high school league could stop so many...

Re: my tourney thoughts

Would someone defend the 5 minute major to me? As far as I saw, it was definately a 2 minute penalty, but it looked no different than any other penalty except it took a long time to get up. I felt bad for teh Cent kid, but that doesnt mean you penalize the other team extra.

If this is the cas...

Blah Blah Blah

Sections 7 and 8 represented the great white north well, going 8-4 in the tournament. I think that Section 5 represented itself well, but are sections 5A and AA relatively contiguous? I dont know where any of those private schools actually are(they might not even be in minnesota for all i know) (jus...

Re: Mpls. refs

I was at the whole tourney, and the only really good officiating I saw was the Duluth/Wayzata 3rd place game officiating. The officials werent on TV, so they werent afraid to take part in the game. They called the penalties they saw, and made it a fair game.

Hooking and Holding were not penal...

I think the upset happens again at the early semifinal, just like the past two years. Wayzata is gonna take it to Centennial, and has a solid chance of winning it all.

Yup...the spuds did get beat by East. It worries me too, because that was also a 2nd game of a hotel stay, as will a state semifinal. Hopefully, the outcome is different this time.

Last year, the Spuds opened the tourney with AHA, and lost. The year before, they opened with Roseville, and los...
