Re: U15's 2016-17

Did the U15 experiment work last year and do folks think this level will be more or less competitive than a year ago? Other than the top 4-6 teams there really weren't many "top" tier teams. Thoughts? Daughter played last year. I thought the league was good. There were 1-5 deep teams, ano...

A couple things that I have read & heard about this new Tier 1 thing. It appears to be significantly different than what was originally proposed earlier this summer. With no out of town weekends (for metro folks) and 3 weekends... We traveled to Duluth last weekend and will be in St. Cloud this...

Sounds sticky not having the best girls participate in Tier 1. It might be a one-year anomaly. Tier 1 in 2016 was announced months after most 2002s committed to AAA and the August-September schedule. 2003s weren't offered the chance to try out until June. It's also worth mentioning that any soccer ...

It's not boys hockey I'll say that much. If they can keep people interested and make some adjustments, in a couple years it could be very good. My thoughts: Either - cut down from 6 to possibly 4 teams. Or - keep top girls down (this year many top 02's are playing HS elite). Then - Bring in more out...

First weekend of games I felt the hockey was slow to start but picked up as the weekend progressed. There are a lot of really good girls in the U14 league so the play will continue to get better as girls get familiar with playing with each other.

jpaul - I just wanted to offer you some encouragement that a "move-in" can be a positive experience for the player/family coming in. I grew up playing hockey in one of the west metro mega associations. We had a great youth team and our group was typically ranked somewhere between #5-#10 in...

I have a hard time seeing how rau gets ahead of scott bloom, and rau makes top 20 and guys like ryan kraft, erik westrum, dan carlson, jeff taffe and dan welch probably won't even make the list. I think they have done an incredible job, but there are definitely gonna be some guys who deserve to mak...

Roseau -12 Edina - 0 OG 85 started this peewee score thread. I like the friendly debate but this Roseau team is for real. OK maybe this didn't happen but I know a green and white team won big. Can we stick to scores here? Let's start a ADM thread. Roseau isn't green until HS. They're blue. Wierd I ...

In all honesty if he's a bubble B/A, then he probably wouldn't make the 2000 MN Edge team as they are a high end team for that age. But hey you never know till you tryout. Don't know much about ICE Edge in terms of the quality of program, but over 2k is too much. There are many more clubs out there ...

South Metro Grizzlies AAA

Does anyone have any info on this program? They don't have a website from what I can find.

Where are they based out of?
Are tryouts invite only?
What levels do they field? ('98-'03, U14's, etc)

Can either reply or PM me...

I think those rankings are accurate based on what talent is already in each association... however new talent could always be a determining factor. I'm sure Eden Prairie so low is a shocker to most, but it will be hard to compensate for the loss of their seniors next year. Both good points and both...

Comparing SSM to MN HS hockey is apples and oranges, a lot of the good players at SSM never stay at the school long enough to play on the prep team, if they did a high school team wouldn't touch them. They go off to Ann Arbor, Canadian Jr's or USHL. Cammaretta and MacKinnon most likely will be gone...

The Elite League does form two teams at the end of their fall season to compete in the Bauer NIT early November. In fact, the White team beat Shattuck in the Championship. Make one team from those two and they would be a very good team. Not only did white beat SSM this year (a good game - saw in pe...

a little more rambling... State Tournament was basically the Rau show. And the kid was great. Fun to watch, I loved the tournament. However, did he ever leave the ice? He was on every power play, penalty kill, and EP rolled what, two lines? 1-2 then 1-2-3. 1-2 then 1-2-3. Throw in the special teams...
