WHL draft today in the 9th round so far 14 US born players... Chaz Lucias goes in the 4th round to PDX. I'd be suprised if he went that route.

Hi Strombo, if more people watched WHL games and knew more about the education package there would be less fear of playing up there. Your kid is going to be a high school senior, correct? Thankfully, he'll be able to earn four years of scholarship before he ages out of the WHL. After he ages out, h...

While I wasn't surprised that Portland signed a MN kid -- Moose Jaw? Unless I'm mistaken, that's not a team that team that is generally known for taking US skaters outside of an occasional kid or two from the west coast. Is the WHL starting to make a few inroads. Is this just a coincidence / an abe...

That is a great move by those two boys. David Wilkie is a great coach who will challenge them far more than the River Lakes system. Both are skilled players making a great decision.

Wow, thanks for posting that story!!! So sad to read about his bio. I hope he continues to hold on to all that is good in his life. Hopefully parents can read this and truly evaluate how they raise their kids and what really matters in life. Tough to read this with a dry eye.

Well Sats will appreciate this fact. Lakville North are farmers are selling their farm land to big time home developers at an insane rate!! I say that LVN will be a 3-4 high school dominant community in the near future!! Edina will not have that type of growth, but one must "achieve" Edina...

Look... if the checking rule change actually results in more injuries, like some of you seem to think it will, the data will support it and USA Hockey will address it. Until then, how about we do our very best with game has it currently structured and move on?[/quote] The question will always linger...

A couple of years ago, I was working with a guy that was an Edina resident. I was telling about a boy (99') my son had played with and mentioned that his family moved to Edina just for the hockey. He looked over at me with disdain and says, "you do not MOVE to Edina, (pause)..... You Achieve Ed...

QouteSection8]..but ok. I'm still going with the science over someone's anecdotal observations.

Not disagreeing per se, but I don't see any science in your post. I see many kids multitasking both on and off the ice. I am no scientist but kids can be taught to stick handle with heads up.

The exception to the rule does not prove or disprove the rule. Sorry man but the masses involved are the ones at risk, not the exceptional exception to the rule. Very good point!! To get to that level with those wee frames are the exceptional ones. But their numbers are growing. The game is cleanin...

Quote] I would be pretty leery about having a kid on the BN team who was just hitting puberty so he is about 5'4" tall and weighs in at about 125 pounds going up against some of those 6'2" 200lb plus kids who have spent a year learning to hit and who like to hit. Clean hit or not with that...

Sats, your squad has been on a roll and to go along with the W's you have been shoveling your LVN #$%* down our throats the past two years so it is nice to see some of it flung back at you. No offense, but you are kind of an a$$. Listen BadMom, the best thing about Sats81 is you know exactly what y...

Quote- Just because kids can get hurt doing lots of things, doesn't make it ok for them to go on the ice and try to injury another player. If that is all Very true, but that is not hockey's problem. It is a parent problem, or possibly a coaching problem. Discipline the problems not the sport!! Hocke...

^^^^^THIS^^^^^^^^^^!!!! Agree 100%. Injuries are a part of life. Whether, you fall off the rocks playing in the Florida surf, (my 12 year old, awesome scars!!) or play sports. Contact is not the issue ask the girls at the U about their concussions.

I went to Bantam game Rosemount vs Spring Lake Park this last weekend. My experience was very interesting. It seems to me that neither the players nor the parents are prepared for body contact.
