Well... the assistant coach from Hill Murray, who is also in a wheelchair, wasn't allowed on the ice either. That's why the one player skated his medal over to him on the bench.

Just sayin... like any other part of the game and Tournament - a rule is a rule

What I didn't understand is why Horton speared the Hill Murray player in the first place. Benilde were winning by a nice margin. Why the frustration?

Well, since Jack was on the JV team then I would say "Yes," because they obviously had enough firepower and talent on the Varsity team to upset all the teams post-season that they did, and win State. But would they have had the drive and motivation to actually accomplish what they did with...

Housley on STA- "Puts it up top shelf where grandma keeps the cookies" That's actually not what he said. He said "He put it up top shelf where grandma keeps the loose change!" Also, both me and my Dad had a good chuckle when Phil called Darthmouth college "Dart-Mouth,...

Our first use of video replay in a while, and they overturn the call and get it right. Nice job by the replay crew. I honestly didn't like the ruling on that. In my book, that was a very nice glove save. Do the pros have that very same rule - where even if the puck is caught behind the line it's st...

2012 State Tourney - The Video Game?

Who/Where is that dude that usually makes the NHL 94 mod every year for the State Tourney?

Maple Grove really impressed me with how deep they are against Blaine. I don't think Hill has a chance - they didn't look very strong against Roseville.

Everybody is going with East, so I'm gonna pick Elk River with the upset. 4-2 The Elks have won their last 6 straight games, including a big upset win over Maple Grove 5-3. They have the firepower to bring East down, believe me. I went to that Hockey Day game with Minnetonka vs Duluth East and if th...

I can understand the angst over a lot of questionable calls. But you also have to understand that the league and the refs are trying to send a message to play smarter and tone it down. All questionable calls may be made for the safety of the kids. Maybe if they had video replays at every high school...

This game was not a dud by any stretch of the mind. Both teams skated hard and had plenty of scoring chances. Minnetonka just happened to play better at both ends of the ice. Some very pretty goals the Skippers had, too. So it's not the Greyhounds goalies' fault either despite the high score.

Lake Nokomis, where they're having the Pond Hockey Championships this weekend, has over 12 inches of ice. Why would Lake Minnetonka be any different?

then I'm definitely driving up to Duluth on Saturday night to see the Moorhead vs Duluth East game! That game will be intense

Minnetonka creamed Edina 6-0 last night! Their JV team finished undefeated last year, and I'm not so sure anyone is capable of beating this Varsity team the way they are playing right now. Maple Grove, Duluth East and Moorhead are looking really good, too. But I dunno.. I think this Skippers team is...

I would have preferred a better goal to end it, like a breakaway or really nice one-timer. But when you get three overtime periods of great high school hockey it's kinda tough to complain
