Re: Moving season start

The 2026-27 dates are the third row on each sheet. 2025-26 are the fourth row, 2027-28 the second row and 2028-29 the first row. Yes, that is my point. The line for '26-'27 only has dates for Yom Kippor, Thanksgiving, etc, and doesn't tell me anything about dates for boys hockey. Must be your brows...

Re: Moving season start

OK thanks Beaver. I tried another browser and that worked better. But I still only see MSHSL dates for 2025-26, and only civic holidays and some religious holy days for following years. Re: Moving season start

Then that would be a week later than typical, since it would put the wrasslers entirely in the month of March. I know I'm usually the dumbest guy in the room, but am I the only one not seeing anything about hockey, or any winter sport, on the MSHSL spread sheet? Are y'all just inferring this about t...

Re: Moving season start

I can't really make heads nor tails of that MSHSL spreadsheet. What I have found to be the best rule of thumb, which has only been incorrect very infrequently, is that at least one day of the wrestling tournament occurs in February. But it pays to verify the dates. In 1987 Kennedy had far and away t...

Re: Greatest State Championship Game Ever

I had to be off to work, because I am less than 92, but I wanted to add that if such a robust individual, who had attended the first final, were still vertical, it would be highly likely that such an individual would participate in this forum. And that guy should be interviewed on that experience. (...

Re: Greatest State Championship Game Ever

These are both in there: 1963 will be up Sunday morning taking on 1977 2022 will be the last quarterfinal and goes against 1945 And who among us can ever forget that 1945 classic? SOME WERE THERE. Statistically, it is likely that no one at that game is still alive. The factors at play are that tota...

Re: Season recap?

Is this the first year that Dave Wright was the PA for Thursday afternoon? My recollection is that Dave Wright always did the Class A, and Jim Erickson had the AA. I much prefer the dulcet pipes of Jim Erickson to Wright, who I find a bit unnerving. This is especially true on the big stage. For my ...

Coliseum History For Sale

For all you who, for some reason I will never comprehend, miss watching hockey at the State Fair Coliseum, now you can own a piece of that experience. Among other items of questionable value the Fair is selling, you can buy a pair of the old seats you may have sat in. Buy a pair of these babies for ...

Re: Tonka Moorhead

Any thoughts on Tonka bailing on the post game? As that ever happened before? Unfortunate, but the world isn't going to end because of it. At a minimum Goldy should have made himself available IMO. That is the odd part. Kids are kids. Even all the chatter about how players from both Hibbing and Ton...

Re: Tonka Moorhead

I can recall all the way back to 1969 and I don't believe any champion has ever been down three goals in a championship game, and I''m guessing if any were before that the comeback started long before the 6:54 mark of the third period. I recall Edina trailing Henry Sibley 3-0 with about ten minutes...

Re: It's tourney time!

Let's hope MSHSL and the coaches tamp down this business of taking off medals and having to be persuaded to accept the runner-up hardware. I know in the old WCHA the winner of the conference tournament would not pick up the McNaughton Cup, "That's not the trophy we want." I always found th...
