Also, the Blades teams are built to compete at tournaments with the best teams in North America. In those tournaments, everyone brings in players from mutliple locations. Its about development of the kids by competeing at the highest level.

Two things to remember.

1. The measure of summer development is where you are in September, not in April.

2. The "team to beat in Minnesota" is the one you are playing right now.

This Open/Invite distinction has evolved over the last ten years. The Minn Spring hockey landscape has dramatically chanegd in the last three years. The biggest change is the entry of for-profit groups into the landscape. Showcase has always been for-profit, but never had teams until last year. BM b...

95,97 and 99 Blades did not play meltdown this weekend.

An interesting thing to point out:

2008 Meltdown-Some Machine teams skip Meltdown and all Blades teams win championships

2009 Meltdown-Some Blades teams skip and all Machines win.

I saw the game. It was a good PeeWee hockey game. It was tied 1-1 and 2-2. Lots of scoring chances for both sides. Both teams passed the puck well (although I have seen both move it better).
