STMA ugly Monticello loss

I like how he has STMA as the 2 seed  Well that was dizzying. I'm not sure what annoyed me more, STMA as the 2-seed (um, no) or the desperate need for an editor. The big difference for DE this yr compared to the past several yrs is they lack a high end offensive defenseman. ER has that this yr...

A & AA classification starting at Pee Wee in 2012-13

I just heard at our hockey board meeting tonight that MN Hockey took their eyes off ADM and no PW Checking for a minute to pass a new classification for regional and state tournaments. Starting in 2012-13 season, teams will play their normal district schedule and then get seeded into two separate cl...

Congrats to Giant Killers STMA PeeWee Bs!

Regional wins vs. Wayzata, Edina and Wayzata along with a loss to Wayazata to qualify for #2 seed to State.

Big doings for STMA - 1st boys team ever to make it to the big dance.

Congrats boys!

1. Develop a program to assist associations in adding more ice arenas.
2. Vote down the elimination of checking at the PeeWee level
3.Train refs to be more consistent with penalty calls.

CHC makes good points and I would take them a step further. If you look at participation drop-off in other sports like baseball, football, and basketball - it all begins at this same age level. It continues to drop at bantams and further drops at high school. It's the evolution of childhood developm...

I have to agree with Fred on this debate. The ironic point missing in all of this is that Rochester Red hasn't provided competition to the teams they want to play and would be hard pressed to find quality teams wanting to play them at this point! I find it surprising that they are so proud of their ...

Thanks for the clarification Elliot. I hope MH has the final say for what happens here.

No checking in hockey, no tackling in football, and God forbid if they play dodgeball in gym. Let's just put skirts on the boys and try to protect them as long as you can. Just another step in the pussification of America. Checking is as much apart of hockey as tackling is in football. If you don't ...

I'm guessing tongue must be planted firmly in cheek given the scores in that district and seeing as how your team lost 4-0 to them. Imagine if they opened up there offense what they would have done to your team :) Ya I'm glad you could hear the sarcasm. To be the best, you need to play the best and...

Farmington does have 4 decent D players and a good goalie, beyond that they are just 6 more forwards. They keep the scoring the low but don't blow teams out. If you could combine Edina's forwards with Farmington's D and goalie, that would be a nice team. Mark my words, Farmington will find themselv...

I think it's time to to leave MM Hockey and the Fire alone. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of either program, but they do provide OPTIONS for parents - whether we like it or not. Something MN Hockey does not. If you don't like their programs, don't support them. Take that a step further and don't...
