Everyone likes to pick on Edina...and at times they were extremely guilty. So lets look at D6 Standings:http://www.d6hockey.net/page/show/92541-standings Expected to by tops Edina, compared to New Prague, standings don't lie.. I scrolled down as far as 10UA and realized it was insane. NP 12UA 0 win...

This is too bad. Take my boys there to watch the section finals every year. Walking in there is like stepping back in time. Such a great atmosphere with a packed house, pep bands, and rowdy fans with a trip to the X on the line.

Thanks for the replies. I sent a few emails today to the "governing bodies" and was told pretty much the same thing. We can petition to be classified a C team, would still play our B2 league schedule (no problem), but would likely not be able to play in either the C or B2 district tourname...

Squirt Team - dropping down for tourney?

Looking for some clarification on the possibility of a Squirt B2 team playing down in a C tournament. The situation is this - I have a son playing on a Squirt B2 team in an association that does not have a C team. In league games we have been somewhat competitive but in 2 tournaments this year we ha...

A lot of people on this board just like to stir the pot because they have nothing better to do. Rather than offer a rational counter argument like an adult they'll just attack the OP. The most important factor for long term success is having a passionate athlete. Without it nothing else matters. I a...

Re: Is Mn hockey doing good ?

Can someone translate this for me? Am I the only one who does not udnerstand a word of this sentence? No, I don't udnerstand it either. :D haha, very funny. but seriously I can't make heads or tails of what he is trying to ask in that sentence/sentences I think he's referring to the new checking fr...

I bet no one can give an example of a Hockey player moving from a strong hockey program to a weaker one for "better Acedemics" You're probably right, but when I think of the stronger hockey programs in the metro are any of them poor academic schools? I don't think so. I think the school y...

I would be surprised if many people were moving solely for hockey purposes but yeah, if you are big into hockey and are planning to move anyway, why not chose an area that has a solid hockey program? Also, I don't think it's necessary to play for a strong program to become a good hockey player. But ...

Since tournament fees are usually included in the registration costs I can only assume that he's talking about total ice time (including guaranteed games in tournaments). If not then the number of tournaments would need to be taken into consideration. Yes, let me see a link for an AAA team that cha...

What are the negative effects of a saturated market? I need to understand your way of thinking to actually make sure that you are thinking.. All I'm saying is that it's a sign that the growth of AAA hockey has hit a peak, at least for the time being. Maybe you just need to explain again.. You are o...

It's all semantics. "AAA" used to mean elite but it doesn't any more. Pretty soon AAA is simply going to mean off-season club hockey. Last year my son played on a Showcase team with kids that were all 99's and 98's. This year those kids were spread out among the PeeWee B1, PeeWee A, and B...

Bauer Supreme

Rumor has it that the 98's are still looking for 3 players. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this organization (they play out of the Super Rink). I don't have a lot of experience with AAA hockey but from what I do know it seems strange that an invite level team would still have spots open...

1.5 hour games for Squirts and above. I'd also like to see bigger tournaments. If association hockey wants to consider themselves legit and avoid winter AAA then I think this needs to happen. I heard a lot of grumbling this year about the 8 team, 3 game tournament format and how you spend more time ...

You can dumb it down as much as you like. You wonder why you've lost control of 12 and 13 year old boys, and I suggested it is because they haven't received a clear message that the behavior they have exhibited won't be tolerated. You should rather wonder: why you post, when you don't want to hear ...

Basically, it's a lot of ganging up on kids when they make a mistake, cutting in line which in turn causes a lot of yelling and screaming that disrupts practice but it's hard to do anything about it when you don't catch the "bullying" in the act Sounds like you're catching it in the act, ...

There is no reason, that I can think of, that one of the coaches (who should always be in the room) would not be able to hear or see the incidences that you are describing. Expecting a 12 year old "captain" to be responsible for the room is asking a little much when the adult coaches can'...

Any poor disrespectful behavior shouldn't be tolerated. It’s the coach’s responsibility. Sit guilty players a couple of shifts at the beginning of the game and explain clearly to the whole team before the game why. Let all the players hear it in front of all of them. It can’t be tolerated. Stop the...

Nice cut/paste reply from the outdated rule book Quack! The 1 referee system is silly and proves USA and MN Hockey don't care about player safety. This past week I once again witnessed a single incompetent referee lose control of a game. Making ridiculous ticky-tacky calls yet overlooking check fro...

First off I would sit down with the captains of that team. This suggestion really made me think because we don't have captains. Again, I am just an assistant but I've always thought that having captains at this level was kind of just a nice way to reward kids who are putting in extra effort. I can ...
