1) There is still no place for less skilled non-U16 eligible to play. Most associations have one or two JG teams total. How do associations with 2 JG teams decide what level to play? 2) Is U16 meant to protect the younger (smaller) players? or develop them? I would like to understand the goal of tha...

Re: WHY
Too many penaltys of not enough? We will all have to get used to the new standards- the refs at my grandsons game last night didnt seems to know where to draw the line either - either too conservative or let too much go within the same game. In the meantime, kids dont need to get hurt playing JG ho...

Edina Why Edina? They have squeaked by Wayzata and Tonka; who are very close to EP- They look like the top four to me at this stage of the game- You would think Edina would be stronger with all the HS cuts but perhaps something more is missing from the team? So... They won the tournament and you're...

Yeah I can't deny that I am very surprised at a number of these picks. Not really sure what happened. Coaches preferences are not all the same. That is to be expected at all levels. If you have not experienced that so far, you have been fortunate/lucky or had politics on your side. Congratulations ...

Re: 16's/17's Predictions
After watching many games this past weekend this is my best guess for the final teams. 16's In my opinion these players are "locks" for the team: Forwards 1. Fasching NTDP 2. Lettieri 3. Labosky 4. Cline 5. Valesano 6. Voltin NTDP 7. 8. 9. 10. Defensemen 1. Gross 2. Raskob NTDP 3. Ausmus ...

Either way, SLP had poor attendance during the regular season and ended up at #11 seed. You gotta wonder what was up with the team if most of their talent didnt feel like showing up for district games. Then when things get interesting (play off time), they are all into it. Other teams played and pr...

Maybe because you were a team that won half of your games... So how does a team go from a win percentage of 50 to beating wayzata easily twice in the post season? From the 2 times i played them this year they had 3 lines of forwards and 2 lines of defense and 1 goalie.. But when i saw them playing ...

Re: bb's picks
My predictions for JGA state were nearly dead on. Here's what I predicted and what actually happened: Predictions: M1 = Wayzata M2 = Tonka M3 = Edina M4 = Ep M5 = Burnsville or Lakeville M6 = SLP Actual: M1 = SLP M2 = Tonka M3 = Ep M4 = Edina M5 = Burnsville M6 = TBD (either Wayzata or WBL) If Wayz...

Re: dakotakid
Junior Gold "A" hockey is pretty good. The top teams (Edina, Wayzata, Burnsville, Tonka; etc) would beat 90+% of the JV teams and most class "A" high school teams and some smaller AA high school teams. Ask for a waiver and join the likes of a burnsville, lakeville, or tonka. The...

Ahh....lets see yes he is. Ask the SLP and Eden Prairie teams that just played against us the last two nights. SLP put 31 shots on him and didn't score a goal. The # 2 goalie was pulled around 1 min. into the game and the score was 2-0 SLP at the time. Final score 2-2. Tonight final score 3-2 eden ...
