Agreed! From what I heard coaches leave certain programs to start their own programs because they can do things better. When this happens kids will follow their coaches leaving teams short players. It appears that this might be a move to discourage players from bailing on their teams. Keep in mind ...

Re: Showcase

I guess that's one take on it, here's another. Who cares who plays for what teams when in the summer? There is NO regulatory guidance on summer hockey that locks a player into a certain roster like our winter regulations. I know plenty of 94 kids that donned 3 or 4 different jerseys last summer and...

Are you telling me that having an organized association doesn't make a difference when it comes to parents and their expectations? We all know that parents will complaint to complain. It's called human nature and we all know each and every association have parents like this. What I cannot figure out...

OMG Quackers - do you really think that tryouts can be managed in a way that makes all the parents happy? What world do you live in? Even over in Bernieland not all the kids make the Machine as I believe you are well aware of. I don't know one association that can please all the parents, all the ti...

Squirts, no doubt. Every one of them are D1 and NHL prospects. And if Mom and Dad don't ride everyone's butt to make sure their kid gets the best coaching / ice time / position / etc. then the world will end... I would gladly go back and coach Mites or PeeWees, but I don't think you could afford fo...

Quote from Duckie, "I don't need to defend MM or BM" Then why have you felt the need to constantly do so? A little unsure yourself? Hiptzech is already tired of you. Do you think he's the only one? Ultimately your son will pay the price for your behavior. How will you feel then? Observer-...

Re: duckquackgrinderbaldingwaistgrowingguy

Hey Quack, I am kinda interested myself. Is this your first kid going through youth sports? You do push Choice alot, too much in my opinion. I am a choice parent myself but I don't get on this board and rant a rave about it. We are fortune to have a choice at this time, call it luck and timing. Rid...

If you dont like bernie then dont send your kid to MM. Simple as that. Bash Brother- Thank you! =D> That's what I've been trying to say for a long time. I think there's and unwritten rule on this site that states you have to skate for your association or else the good old boys might get offended. M...

If they are out of state then they are probably in the invite division. I heard that the Northern Edge team kinda got the shaft last year and no one really wanted to play them. Anyone care to tell me why? I know they had some solid teams at a couple of the levels for sure. Where did the Northern ed...

Not true! There is no logical reason for kids to leave Minnesota made to go back to their associations. I can tell you without a doubt no association can offer the development that Minnesota made can. Squirt league is going good. The coaches have great practice plans and the kids are working hard. ...

It sounds like they're trying to reduce the number of kids leaving these teams to play for other teams that have formed in recent years. I can tell you there were no shortage of teams in the "99" age group last year. This decision forces teams to travel out of the metro, state or country t...

Is this your first rodeo? .......First kid thru youth sports?? Slow down a bit.. To each his own I guess............. Last I looked there's no squirt state tourney. Instead of having kids play down have them play up with better skaters to work on their skills. Especially when the first year squirts...

yeah, those kids were ankle benders before bernie got them. A real pygmalion story here. These kids were great before MM, and have just gotten better. Don't take all the credit for their success. Having a fantastic goalie doesn't hurt either. Just had to chuckle on that.... They're squirts :w...

Re: wow

Quack, did they lengthen the practices to 80 minutes and opt for REALLY LONG games because it is better for development or as a way to sell more of the Minnesota Made ice? How many skaters per team? Rather than have such long games I'd rather see fewer on the roster. There are four squirt teams at ...

Re: Squirt Choice League

Does anyone know how this squirt choice league is going over at Minnesota Made. I heard a lot of the kids from there mite program are going back to there associations. Are these teams allowed to play in tournaments or is it just a house league? I also heard Bernie isn't all that happy with the amou...

It depends on the age group. I know the 99's are different. Especially going into the 2009 season.

Put them at B or C, it really doesn't matter. Just make sure they get their trophy at the end of the year for participating. I like the medals better personally.....they're easier to lose/misplace or they make nice coasters  I still get a kick out of parents that complain about an association ...
