Centennial/Edina game podcast discussion
By the way, the "really tall kid" you refer to in the Centennial/Edina game is Matt Jennrich. Great kid. No, he's not mine.

Re: court decision
If any of the lawyers involved are worth a damn there will be an injunction pending appeal, and I can say with 99% certainty that there will be an appeal. With all due respect, Goldy, I'm not sure which law school you went to or what bar exam you took, but there is no way the judge is going to issu...

I know it's tournament time and the best of hockey is on display at the Xcel, but Matt Olson and his family need the State of hockey's support. Whether you are part of a public or private school, large association or small association, we invite you to join us as we offer support to Totino Grace alu...

NAHC, I had resolved to stop posting on this site for various reasons, but your post resonated with me, especially the second half of your post. For the record, I do not know the LVN coach nor do I know the Poehlings. But, why on Earth would you think that anyone associated with LVN hockey or any ho...

Sats 81, I hope you feel good about your post regarding the SPA player. I don't know the kid, but I wish him well. He is heading off to a quality prep school that will prepare him well for what I am certain is his goal of gaining admission to a tier one college. Will he play D1 hockey? Probably not-...

Minnesota Hockey Puts Hockey Over Academics
Why did Minnesota Hockey schedule the HP17 Festival on the same day as the ACT exam? The HP Spring Festival is scheduled to occur April17-19. The ACT exam is scheduled for April 18. This creates a conflict for the ‘98s. Sure, the boys can take the exam in June and in the fall. But, for those boys wh...

It makes a difference because the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Minnesota's Government Data Practice Act (MGDPA) only apply to public authorities. The FOIA and MGDA do not apply to private companies or organizations. The primary purpose behind the FOIA and MGDA is to make sure public taxpaye...

Whopper2, You would be hard pressed to convince a court that your son's due process rights have been violated. Most judges would look at your son's background with a jaundiced eye. You own property outside of Edina. If you have taken the homestead deduction, a court likely would deem it to be your p...

GB58, Hmmm . . . You should ask the taxpayers of the State of Minnesota the same question regarding: the new People's Stadium (a/k/a the Vikings Stadium), the Xcel Energy Center (home to the Wild), the Target Center (home to the Timber Wolves and Lynx), Target Field (home to the Twins), and the new ...

As a parent whose son will graduate this month from a military college and accept his commission, I could not be more proud of my son. That said, this is NOT a path for everyone. Aside from the post-graduation active duty military commitment, the first year at these schools is intense. A common sayi...

I look at the HPs differently than some of you. First, I will disclose that while my son skated in the Spring Festival he did not make the 54s. Frankly, he did not deserve to make the cut. He skated poorly on Friday, well on Saturday, and okay on Sunday. Had he skated the way he did on Saturday for ...

Yawn. The private versus public debate goes on year after year, especially at tournament time. This year is no different, even though there are no privates participating in the AA tournament and only two privates participating in the A tournament. The two privates participating in the A tournament p...

In my opinion, what separates the best institutions from the good institutions is the strength of the alumni net...
