Re: covid and MH

Be prepared for increased cases when the shutdown occurs due to kids maintaining a social life. MSHSL will regret this decision. Maybe not this year. But when their Bread and Butter money maker Hockey State Tournament is bye-bye, schools will be faced with increased fees which will lead to further ...

Re: covid and MH

I think he was referring to my post. I was simply responding to WestMetro on why there is an issue in the nursing homes. I agree with 6AA that there should be some sort of incentive for these workers, but I think the political reality is that it won't happen. Yes, but he referred to me by name. Sha...

Re: covid and MH

I'd say that from all of my travels as of late, at least 75% have been wearing masks. But that is based on the places I actually go like the hockey rink, hospital, grocery store and gas station. I don't go to bars / restaurants and that's where a lot of the spread is taking place. They actually sai...

Re: covid and MH

We shut down the first time to give hospitals time to prepare. Since then have we actually done anything to increase our ICU capacity? Maybe we have but apparently not enough if we are running out. If Walz shuts everything down again that would be the question for him. What have you been doing the ...

Re: MSHSL Oct 1st Meeting (Boys Hockey Season Fate)

Meh, we don’t shut down school districts for 49 students positive with the flu in a district as large as Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan but 49 is far too many with Covid like symptoms in October! I noticed that they cancelled a Breck FB game last evening not because multiple players tested positive, ...

The southern states peaked during the summer because everybody was going indoors to escape the heat and moving to air conditioning. The northern states are starting to peak because its getting cold outside and everybody is going indoors where its warm. Sorry folks, but its only going to get worse up...

Sid Hartmans son Chad Hartman: “I want to make it clear — he didn’t die from COVID — but COVID took away the enjoyment from his life by making him stay home,” his son said later. “It took away the chance to see the people he liked. It took away his zest, not being able to go four, five different pl...

.....there would be very little loss in development if we just did in house practices and cross-ice/half-ice 3 on 3 leagues for a single year. Re: Minnesota Hockey Taking Over?

Well stated Old Man! I made a rare trip to Home Depot the other Day when I didn’t want to wait two days for replacement bad light fixture from Amazon. Watching the check out: people getting garden flowers and supplies, people getting interior paint for redecorating projects, etc. etc. In other word...

Re: MSHSL moves football to spring

The High School League will make community spread more likely if it restricts or cancels winter HS hockey (and basketball) and for that reason alone, it makes more sense to run the season as normal, with restrictions on attendance if needed. The players are safer if they remain with their teams. Th...

Old Man (jury still out on wise), I am honestly and truly sorry for you. I'm sure you believe what you are saying. Therefore you must be very sad and scared for yourself, your loved ones, and the world. I see manipulated numbers. The deaths are full of "probable" and "died with". I saw the focus st...

Re: Will there be high school hockey for 2020-2021?

Agreed GR. I will add that if we are going to close schools and activities we at least have to be honest with ourselves about the reasons for doing it. We are 4 months in now and there hasn’t been a single school aged kid that has died in MN. Are we closing schools for their safety and out of their...

Watching him play with the puck as long as he did, it always amazed me why other teams didn't just forget about the puck and pummel him every chance they got. Will be interesting to see if his lack of size matters at the next level.
